Tracey Cunningham’s Fall/Winter 2011 Hair color Forecast..

As the thermometer drops this winter, trendy haircolors are on the rise!

Brilliant brunettes, rich redheads and bright blondes, says Tracey Cunningham, celebrity colorist and Redken Creative Consultant for Color. Ready to get in the mood for sweater weather? Here are Tracey’s fall haircolor predictions to help you create the hottest looks of the season

TREND #1: BRUNETTES

The look of the upcoming season will be what Tracey calls the ‘Illumination’ effect. “It is the hottest haircolor trend in Hollywood right now and it can be seen on every red carpet!” she says. “It is a fun look that welcomes the winter months by going brunette around the base and gradually going lighter down to the ends of the hair.”

TREND #2: REDHEADS

“Isla’s color is one of my favorite looks,” notes Tracey. “The shine in her hair gives her a vibrant look from head to toe. This fall you will see this look on many celebrities since it’s a very seasonal trend.” The color, Tracey says, is in-between a strawberry blonde red and a ginger red; it adds the perfect touch of ‘fun- in-the-sun’ after the summer months.

TREND #3: BLONDES

“Emma’s new platinum blonde look has been quite the buzz with the media,” Tracey says. “This look is the result of a few visits to the salon to get it just right. The most important aspect to this look is keeping your locks hydrated to reduce breakage from the lightener. The look has highlights and lowlights throughout the hair and an ultra blonde base.”

The Top 4 Hair Trends According To Redken (Which One Would You Try?)

As you know, the spring 2012 runways had plenty wacky and wonderful hair. To help make sense of all those styles, here's a look at what 4 trends Redken Creative Director Guido pioneered at the shows (and let me tell you ladies, he does all the big ones) along with some tips on how to make the more daring ones work in real life.

New Lengths: Compared with other seasons spring 2012 had many all-down hair looks (both wavy and straight) that were all about showcasing healthiness and movement. Remember when we dished on big, beautiful hair? That's this trend!

Naturally Tough: This look is "tough, chic and utterly cool" according to Redken. It's all about natural texture (as opposed to big, bouncy curls or pin-straight locks) with a bit of an edge (think: high shine and extreme parts). To ramp up your own natural texture Guido says, "just toughen it up with a bit more product".

Shape Shifter: Updos that created strong shapes were also a theme on the runways. From the ethereal braids at Valentino to the tousled French twist at Marc Jacobs, updos had a confident, artistic appeal. These looks are a wee bit more how-to video-worthy than your beloved headed-to-the-gym ponytail, but the hard work sure does pay off.

Water Babies: Shiny hair is back in a big way and it was shown on the spring runways in the form of wet looks with loads of texture (as opposed to wet looks that are smooth and sleek). To make this style work in real life Guido recommends using just a bit more shine serum than usual or a lot, if you plan to pull your hair back into a messy bun or a cool French twist.

Which trend do you like the most? Can you see yourself trying any of these looks out?

Wow or WTF: This Funky, Twisty Hairstyle

I am oddly drawn to the twisty hairstyle model Natasha Poly wore to the global launch of the 2012 Pirelli Calendar By Mario Sorrenti. Are you?

It's kind of futuristic and it could look really severe on the wrong person. But it really sets off this lady's bone structure, am I wright? What do you guys think?

Does this style make you go "Wow" or "WTF"?
